Project 365: August 10
On a whim we bought some tickets to the Brewers game off of Craigslist and brought both kids (our youngest’s first game). Sundays are pretty family friendly and at the end of the game, the kids get to run the bases on the field.
There must be some weird mojo at Miller Park that repels my camera. Earlier this year I got there with a dead battery and today I completely forget it.
The game ended up going 13 innings, and since the kids were amped to run the bases, there was no leaving early. The game started at 1:05pm and we left the parking lot at 5:30pm. The little guy was a trooper and only had maybe one meltdown, but completely passed out on the way home.

The Milwaukee Brewer had a “block party” in Elm Grove and Whitefish Bay today. We went to the Elm Grove one, along with a couple other thousand people.
The block parties are community events where the players come out and sign autographs, they have activities for the kids. My son got a balloon animal from this clown.

The first harvest from our garden. My wife grabbed a random basket out of the closet because she couldn’t find the bowl she’d normally use. Once done, she says “Hey, I got you picture for today!” and so she did.
Lighting on this consists of a bare Nikon SB-24 at 1/2 power lighting the background, and a Canon 580EX at 1/2 power through a white shoot through umbrella camera right.

Late night at work. I caught the sun setting through some conference room windows, exposed for the table and let the room go dark. Other than conversion to B&W via Lab Mode and some sharpening, this is SOOC (straight out of camera.)

I caught the sun setting on our garden. This bean is a rare sight since the kids usually eat them straight off the plant. I don’t think a single bean has made it inside.

We headed out to the WI State Fair today. I shot a bunch of frames, but I liked this one the most. One of the farms was bringing its hogs in for display.

And so starts another month.
This is the larger of two piles of dirt (10 cubic yards total) we had delivered to re-grade in front of the house. We moved it all using only the tools pictured.
