Project 365: March 21
Note what a difference one day makes. The shot yesterday was of a sunny day, no snow. Then we get dumped on again, just in time for Easter weekend. This was right before my first time snow blowing the drive way – we’d had about 13 inches at this point. Over all storm total came in around 18 inches. I’m as tire of taking snow pictures as you are probably tired of seeing them.

I didn’t shoot too many frames today – I shot this on my way home from work. They had Burleigh shut down because of this container. That is not the tractor that is supposed to be pulling the container, it is a tow truck. somehow it had been dropped off in the middle of this intersection.
Used a cross processing action to try and give the image a little punch. Don’t know if it helped.

This is Howard’s in Mequon. Once a month a bunch of folks from work get together here after work to have a few drinks. Not a big turn out this evening.
The sun is directly behind the sign here. Work has been crazy busy lately so I’m not making as many pictures lately. I take what I can get. I have to say looking back on the day’s images, the fact that this is the strongest is a little disappointing.

Nothing too Irish for today, unfortunately. My wife was hosting her book club and bought some fresh flowers for the table. I tried some various lighting schemes on them and arrived at this one (though will revisit the other later in the year).

Stop Sending Half Written Emails
I’m slowly plowing through the backlog that is my Google reader list, catching up on a bunch of stuff. Dan Dantow, who writes the handy writing tips blog Word Wise, shares a little hack for email to prevent sending something too early – write you email in reverse. Craft the body, then the subject, then pick the recipients. This has a number of advantages, two of which be the subject will probably be better, and you won’t send it before you’re done. I can’t count the number of times Outlook has sent an email before I was done with it, usually by some inadvertent key combination. This little trick gives you a safeguard since Outlook (or any email program for that matter) can’t send an email without someone to send it to.

We celebrated Easter with the in-laws today on account of my wife having to work on actual Easter. Here my son is wrestling with their dog and kicking him off his bed.

This is an abandoned US Coast Guard facility on the lake front that is scheduled to be razed. I got some shots of it on film, but haven’t developed the roll yet.
I’d planned on making more photos down by the lake today, but it was a lot colder than I expected.

The kids were playing in the driveway enjoying the warm weather. This is my panning shot to date: my son riding his push car down the driveway.
