Some of the support cables for the roof at Miller Park. Made it out for my first game of the year and hope to make a few more.

I can’t recall how long I’ve subscribed to Brian Clark’s Copyblogger, but I’ve been a lurker there for a while. On a whim I entered his Twitter Writing contest and won a second honorable mention.  the contest?  Write a story in 140 characters or less. My entry was:

The priest at the funeral home asked if she had been a loving mother. The children all stared at each other. The silence spoke volumes. [original tweet]

For my honorable mention I get a signed copy of Hypnotic Writing from Joe Vitale. I’m actually looking forward to seeing it as I’ve never heard of the guy before.

My first failure on the project, this was shot with my camera phone and is one of the only photos for the day.  I’m not happy, but I’m moving on.

This is the UPS on my office computer.  It displays the current voltage coming out of the wall (why this is useful, I don’t know)

This is my brother Aaron.  He needed a headshot for various purposes (he is an art professor and professional sculpture artist) and had me bring up some lights.

Strobist: Fairly simple single strobe setup.  SB-24 at 1/4 power in shoot through umbrella camera right.  Sun filtered through some trees camera left providing a little bit of kick.

My brother was ripping a huge Russian Olive log in half for an art piece.  This is a splitting wedge.

My son had been looking forward to going fishing for weeks and wasted no time in getting  line in the water when we got to the cabin.
