I just finished up another presentation by Clay Shirky, this time at last week’s Web 2.0 expo. If this is his presentation at a conference, I can only imagine what his lectures at NYU are like.

This guy really seems to have a grasp on the future. Not so much from that standpoint of “this is what the future will be,” but more from a standpoint of “this is why the future looks strange to us – and that’s ok. As a society we’ve been through this sort of change before.”

Horse and windmil at sunrise

No, that’s not a huge knife, it’s actually a paring knife and a tiny watermellon. This thing was about the size of a softball and grew in our garden.

I love the “catching flies” look.

This didn’t turn out as well as I wanted, there really is no subject here.  I liked the light and the reflection, but alas, not much else.

I liked the back lighting on this.  I’m probably going to send this one in for my NYIP photo project for back lighting.

This is Barry.  I wanted to try a lighting setup and knew I wasn’t going to have a model since everyone was going to be in bed, so I grabbed him.
