We went to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago and there was a brand new "Storm Science" exhibit. This is a two story "tornado" that is actuall a vortex of water vapor. Still pretty impressive looking. [Read more →]

We were on a small family vacation in Chicago and went to Millenium Park. The Cloudgate Sculpture (locally known as "The Bean") attracts people taking pictures of themselves. While I got plenty of relfection shots of the family, I wanted to capture the scene, namely the amount of other doing the same. [Read more →]

I was pretty much stranded in airports all day today. On my way back from Austin, TX to Milwaukee, WI (only to leave for Chicago, IL tomorrow). I’ve often wondered you designed these chairs that are so common in airports. I’m sure it is some famous mid-20th century furniture designer.
The shot itself is an HDR composite of a three shot bracket to try and keep detail in the sky and the seat. [Read more →]
