K-1000 Review Follow-Up
![]()
Last week I posted my review of the Pentax K-1000. At the time I’d only had one roll of film back from the lab, a roll of Fuji Velvia 100F. The scans were pretty good, but not great. I’d really been waiting for the B&W film to come back. Since I was posting the review for my entry into Brian Auer’s $50 film camera contest, I went with what I had. Now I wish I’d had this film to post with the review.
I picked up one of the rolls of B&W from the lab (the other still isn’t back) and scanned the prints (I only have a flatbed scanner) and am a little happier with the results. This roll was Ilford Delta 400, which I hope I win the contest for the mere fact of getting a hold of more of this film. The contrast is great and the scans still don’t do it justice. I really need to get a dedicated film/slide scanner.
Here are a few favorites:
The Little Guy Eatin’ Some Lunch
After the jump is the entire roll that I shot, including some of the bad frames (I managed to double expose one, and the other I don’t know why they printed it). Click through to any of the images to see a larger view.

Wow, very beautiful. My mom just gave me dad’s old camera, same model as this one and all. After seeing your work, I’m more than looking forward to using it.
Very awesome work.
