The Future of this Site
Feedburner still tells me there are a few of you out there “listening,” or at least have your RSS reader checking in from time to time so you can blindly mark my posts as read.
I’ve been kicking around the idea of shuttering this site in favor of something new. I bought this domain mainly on a whim of trying to have a crafty URL for my online home. It was also to have a place to blog in my post Microsoft world since I’d be losing access to me MSDN blog. Since that time back in 2007, I chronicled my (literal) run-up to my first, and finally second marathon and then launched my photo-a-day project back in 2008. The crafty-ness of the URL has sort of faded for me.
I definitely want to still maintain an online presence beyond Twitter and Facebook that is my own, and I do want to continue publishing a photo for each day, so I will be launching a new home for all that soon. I’ve got a few URL’s I can put it on, and it will give me a chance to make a clean break from hirlpoo, name and design-wise.
Stay tuned for information on this new site. In the meantime, I had some issues here preventing me from making updates which I finally cleared up. My goal is to have the new site up and running by July 1st (though I’m making no promises – there are a lot of shiny objects around). I will be finally posting new photos to get the project up-to-date hopefully this week. The mechanism I use to cross post from Flickr will have them tagged for the day they were shot on, so this post will probably seem out of sorts, but suffice it to say as of the time of this writing, March 30th is the last photo I’d posted.
